Is the Picture of Your Child Still Current?

Raising Scholars Episode 39: Is the Picture of Your Child Still Current?

Aired on Oct 27, 2026

Your child’s school has a picture of who your child is as a learner. But how old is that picture? It might be from September, from the last report card, or from the last time someone said “they’re struggling.”

In this episode, Jacquie shares the story of Jordan. Jordan’s school wanted to hold him back a grade, using assessments that were seven months old. By spring, Jordan was reading at grade level, and current evidence moved him to the next grade. Jacquie explains why old information isn’t bad information, and why it shouldn’t become the permanent description of your child. She also walks you through a five-question evidence check from the Evidence pillar of the R.A.I.S.E.™ Framework. You can use it with a teacher, a tutor, or yourself before any big decision is made.
